Working with Jedox, we notably increased the quality of our monthly reviews with local management. We can now provide accurate, up-to-date insights that support better decision-making at each location.
Messer Medical Home Care is a leading European home care platform provider specializing in respiratory home care treatments. MMHC is enhancing its market position with targeted growth (including a Buy&Build strategy) and portfolio completion initiatives.
The group generates € 72 million in revenues and aims to maintain a CAGR of 12% through 2027. MMHC employs 400 FTEs and serves over 70,000 patients on a daily basis.
MMHC is active in eight countries, each with a different go-to-market model. Local regulation determines the roles of hospitals and medical service providers, funding rules, and reimbursement policies.
Local challenges shouldn’t distract the group from focusing on improving top-line growth and bottom-line enhancements. The inflation surge has impacted the results as MMHC mainly works at official tariffs from health authorities. Changing these takes added procedure timing. There was a need for detailed (GL-level) analysis of local budgets and forecasts, which wasn’t possible with the Excel reports at hand. These were also very time-consuming to produce and error-prone due to their nature.
The group investigated the option to migrate all countries to one uniform accounting system or ERP but quickly abandoned this route due to local business differences. At the same time, there was a pertinent need to consolidate the results for group reporting to the holding.
Pieter Martens, the Group CFO, decided it was time for a different approach and contacted NX Partners. Pieter wanted to streamline the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting process and was looking for a system capable of connecting to MMHC’s different data sources. The new system had to provide full transparency while balancing group and country data, strengthening the collaboration between group and country level.
The aim was also to provide the countries with visual reports that were easy to consult so that local managers would have the insights needed to steer and grow their businesses.
This was also an opportunity to improve budgeting and planning cycles and reduce the manual effort to produce reports.
Based on these requirements, NX Partners suggested Jedox as an integrated Financial Planning and Analysis platform. NX Partners translated Pieter’s vision into a clear roadmap with a phased rollout. Thanks to NX’s templates, Pieter could quickly provide basic reporting to the countries. All countries started working with the first module of the new system from day one, which enhanced the adoption rate.
Thanks to Jedox, MMHC can streamline reporting across multiple subsidiaries, consolidating financial data more efficiently and accurately. This has notably improved the quality of the monthly review with local management, as the system provides accurate, up-to-date insights that support better decision-making at each location. The Excel add-in helps build standardized reporting packs and quick ad-hoc analyses using the Excel interface, which is familiar to finance and business users.
Additionally, Jedox allows MMHC to automate the group consolidation process, ensuring consistent and reliable data for its overall financial reporting.
The budgeting module enhances MMHC’s ability to plan and track budgets, helping the business stay aligned with its financial goals across departments. Its reporting accuracy and quality of financial insights make it a valuable asset.
Nik De Corte, the Group CEO, would never want to return to how MMHC worked before implementing Jedox. Thanks to Jedox, he can drill down at the GL level to understand and challenge subsidiary budgets and forecasts. At the same time, it provides local management with the insights they need to fully own their results. The visual reports make it easy to compare countries, which has improved KPIs.
Nik acknowledges that Pieter’s strong vision and NX Partners’ guidance and expertise were the keys to achieving these results. Together, they transformed MMHC’s financial planning and reporting system and brought the finance and business teams closer together.
